Postdoctoral Researcher in Microeconomic Theory

The Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy at the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in microeconomic theory. The appointment will be for three years, starting in Fall 2021 or earlier.

The successful candidates will join an international team of researchers at the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy and the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn. The Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy is a joint initiative of the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne, the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods, and briq -Institute on Behavior & Inequality. It is funded as a Cluster of Excellence by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The Institute for Microeconomics at the University of Bonn consists of six full professors, one associate professor, one assistant professor, and several postdocs. It runs a weekly seminar series with international visitors, a weekly lunch seminar with internal speakers, and organizes international workshops on current topics. Successful candidates will be fully integrated into the Cluster and the Institute of Microeconomics at the University of Bonn and its research community.

German language skills are not required. The position comes with teaching obligations (which can be fulfilled in English). Salaries are regulated by the German Higher Education Law and set according to the E13 TV-L scheme. A generous research budget is available. Additional funds for research visits, conference travel, and research assistance are available.

Requirements for a postdoctoral researcher are a Ph.D. in economics or related fields and a publishing record or evidence of potential to publish in leading journals.
