ECONtribute cordially invites to the Inaugural Lecture by Cluster member Michael Bechtel: “Why Are We Underprepared? Democracy, Sustainability, and Long-Term Policy Challenges.”
Michael Bechtel is Professor of Political Economy in the Department of Political Science and European Affairs, faculty member in the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics, and senior researcher in the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets and Public Policy.
Previously, he was a professor at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in the USA and at the University in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Bechtel completed his habilitation at ETH Zurich in 2012 and his Ph.D at the University of Konstanz in 2008. In his research, he examines how countries can address global economic and environmental sustainability problems.
The Inaugural Lecture is followed by a reception.
