Florian Zimmermann ist Professor an der Universität Bonn und beim briq. Er ist Research Fellow am CESifo und Research Affiliate beim IZA. Nach dem Studium der Volkswirtschaftslehre in Mannheim und Los Angeles promovierte er 2013 an der Universität Bonn. Bevor er 2017 zum briq und der Universität Bonn wechselte, war er Postdoc an der Universität Zürich. Im Jahr 2020 erhielt er vom Europäischen Forschungsrat (ERC) für seine Arbeiten zum Einfluss des Gedächtnisses auf die Bildung wirtschaftlich relevanter Meinungen und Erwartungen einen European Starting Grant.
