ECONtribute Special Lecture by Andreas Dombret

29.05.2019

“Minus times minus equals plus doesn’t hold for bank consolidations.” On Tuesday, 28th of May 2019, Andreas Dombret, former member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank and former Vice-Chairman of the Bank of America , delivered an ECONtribute Special Lecture on “Mergers and Acquisitions in Banking”. Faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students attented this special lecture. Dombret stated that there will be further shrinking, higher concentration and disruptive structural changes in the banking sector. Also, it is uncertain whether there will still be any banks in the future and what role they will play. It was a pleasure to welcome him in the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute!

The event was jointly organized by the Exzellenzcluster ECONtribute EXC-2126 and the CRC TRR-224.
