Election year 2021: New season of “ECONtribute – Der Wirtschaftspodcast” on major political challenges

24.08.2021

In the new #Wahljahr season of “ECONtribute – Der Wirtschaftspodcast”, ECONtribute focuses on major political challenges of the upcoming years. Listen now – wherever podcasts are available.

In the Wirtschaftspodcast ECONtribute addresses political challenges of the following years and discusses them scientifically every two weeks until the election on September 26. Tackling climate change, getting the economy up and running again after the pandemic, and enabling affordable housing for all: Researchers from the Cluster of Excellence provide scientific evidence on major election challenges.

Kicking off the season, Prof. Dr. Felix Bierbrauer, professor at ECONtribute at the University of Cologne, analyzes possible reforms of the German tax system. Is our tax system efficient? Should high-income earners pay higher taxes? And how realistic are tax cuts after the pandemic?

In monthly episodes of about 30 minutes, Carolin Jackermeier, PR Manager at ECONtribute, discusses the most exciting topics of ECONtribute research and provides insight into the work of the Cluster of Excellence. Following the elections, the current season #Education will continue.
