ECONtribute warmly invites you to the workshop “ECONtribute: Political Economy in Economic History – 2023”. The workshop will take place on September 14 – 15 at the Universitätsclub (Konviktstr. 9) in Bonn.
The workshop brings together European researchers specializing in various areas of the historical political economy literature. The workshop’s primary objective is to deepen the understanding of the transformation of countries during the 19th and 20th centuries, with a specific focus on political systems and inequality.
The empirical exploration of the forces that shaped development during this crucial period has garnered significant interest, yet the ultimate drivers are still subject to ongoing debate. In this workshop, the organiszers aim to address this discourse through a discussion of a substantial amount of empirical work, specifically examining the evolution of political institutions, economic growth, and inequality.
Fabian Waldinger from LMU Munich will serve as the keynote speaker. Professor Waldinger’s expertise and insights will provide invaluable perspectives to the discussions.
Please note that there are limited slots for participants. To express your interest in joining this event, please contact Mintra Dwarkasing (mdwarkas@uni-bonn.de) by August 18, 2023.
