Stefanie Stantcheva, Professor of Economics at Harvard University will deliver this year’s virtual Selten Lecture on “Social Economics Surveys and Experiments to Understand how People think about Economic Policy”. Stefanie Stantchevas’s research focuses on long-run effects of taxes on innovation, education & training, and wealth. Also, she runs a run large-scale “Social Economics Surveys and experiments” to explore the determinants of social preferences, attitudes, and perceptions. 

This lecture will look at the use of large-scale social economics surveys and experiments to explore how people think about a range of economic policy and economic issues. From social mobility to immigration, tax policy and trade policy, we can get into people’s minds and see what the mental models are that people use to think about these important issues.

With the Selten Lecture, the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute and the Reinhard Selten Institute invite on an annual basis internationally renowned researchers for a lecture for interested researchers.
