Ulrike Malmendier is a member of the German Council of Economic Experts and a professor at the University of California in Berkeley. Ulrike Malmendier studied economics and law at the University of Bonn, where she also gained her doctorate in law.

She is returning to the University of Bonn as part of the Selten Salon organised by the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute. The Selten Salon presents cutting-edge research topics to the interested public.
