Myra Mohnen (University of Ottawa) will give a mini course on ‘Network Analysis’ for doctoral students and postdocs of the University of Cologne and University of Bonn.
As the world is getting more “connected”, the study of network has received a growing interest. While previously social relations were restricted to geographically close neighborhoods, advances in information and communication technologies and transportation have removed such restrictions. Many phenomena such as information diffusion, epidemics, computer viruses, and financial crises are possible because of the networks that connect us. The aim of this short class is to provide an introduction to network analysis, with a particular focus on empirical applications.
