Isabel Schnabel elected as Vice Chair of the Advisory Scientific Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board

We are happy to announce that ECONtribute spokesperson Prof. Isabel Schnabel has been elected as Vice Chair of the Advisory Scientific Committee (ASC) of the European Systemic Risk Board.

The ASC Board consists of 15 experts representing a wide range of skills, experience and expertise. It contributes to the public debate on macroprudential policy by publishing reports. Past contributions include calls for: credible bank resolution; a European capital markets union; and enhanced disclosure of carbon-intensive assets.

The ASC Board meets quarterly in Frankfurt and publishes reports on a regular basis. Isabel Schnabel had already been a board member before and was now elected as Vice Chair. She is also a member of the German Council of Economic Experts, research affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy (CEPR) and at the Max-Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods. Prof. Schnabel lectures Financial Economics at the University of Bonn, her main fields of research are financial stability, systemic risk and banking regulation.
