The microtheorist Sarah Auster will be new professor at ECONtribute and at the University of Bonn from September 1 onwards. Sarah Auster was previously an Assistant Professor at the University of Mannheim and Bocconi University. In 2014, she completed her doctorate at the European University Institute in Florence. “Both the Cluster and the University of Bonn have given me a very warm welcome. I am looking forward to working in this excellent research environment,” said Auster on the verge of her appointment.

Auster’s research focus is on microeconomic theory, in particular contract/mechanism design and applications of decision theory. She is interested in economic decisions by agents who have limited awareness of the relevant contingencies or limited knowledge of the likelihood of possible events. She also works on competitive markets with asymmetric information and search frictions. “Sarah Auster is a great asset to the Cluster and the University of Bonn. I am very much looking forward to working together”, said Professor Stephan Lauermann from the Institute for Microeconomics at the University of Bonn.
