How do intersectional gender perspectives change our view of science? Why do we need them—and what do these findings mean for our society?
On February 7, 2026, six scientists from different disciplines will answer these questions at the Science Slam “See More Than Before”. In 10-minute presentations, they will talk about their research in an entertaining and engaging way.
Among them will be Luisa Wolf, member of the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute at the University of Cologne. She will present her research on Labor Demand and Workforce Diversity.
Also participating:
- Laura Midey from the Faculty of Law at the University of Cologne (Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law)
- Frederic Rukes from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Cologne (a.r.t.e.s.)
- Junior Professor Franziska Bellinger from the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Cologne (Junior Professor of Media Didactics and Media Education)
- Dr. Kristin Scharnweber from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Cologne (Institute for Zoology)
- Marlene Neidlinger from Medical Psychology
After the presentations, the audience will have the opportunity to award points for the best contributions. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for discussion.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Kulturbunker Köln-Mühlheim and is free of charge.
The Science Slam is organized by the University of Cologne’s “UoC IMPACT – Implementing Gender Aspects in Research” project. The project works within a university network to structurally anchor gender knowledge through fellowships, workshops, digital theory modules, and science communication.
