DESCRIPTION:This event will be in German only.   “Made in Europe” Technological change, geopolitical tensions, and intensifying global competition are fuelling fears that Europe could be left behind. Yet Europe is more resilient than is often assumed. Nevertheless, it must utilise its talent, innovative strength and scientific excellence more effectively to transform ideas into scalable business models. Creating a '28th regime' could play a pivotal role in realising Europe's economic potential and strengthening the „Made in Europe“ brand. On May 28, 2026, as part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne, Isabel Schnabel will discuss the measures Europe could take to realise its full economic potential at the Selten Salon, hosted by the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute. Isabel Schnabel is a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank. Previously, she was a professor of financial market economics at the University of Bonn and a spokesperson for the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute.   Thursday, May 28, 2026 Admission: 5:00 p.m. Start: 5:30 p.m. Location: Lecture Hall 1, Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne Universitätsstraße 24, 50931 Cologne   The lecture will be followed by a discussion and a reception from 6.45 p.m. We look forward to numerous participants and ask for a binding registration.
