Selten Seeding Grants
For Associated Members of ECONtribute
Selten Seeding Grants support early career researchers who are associated members of ECONtribute. The grants may be used to fund research projects (e.g., data collections, experiments, students assistants), organize workshops or conferences, or cover travel expenses for conferences, training, networking, or other events that contribute to the applicant’s professional development as a researcher.
Maximum funding amount: Successful applications may receive funding of up to 5.000 Euros, although this is not guaranteed for every member each year. The maximum funding amount provided by the Cluster per person per year is 5.000 Euro. The maximum funding amount per project is 5.000 Euro.
Co-funding: Co-funding from a non-Cluster source is required for any joint project exceeding 5.000 Euro, but is also encouraged for smaller projects.
Research stays:
- For research stays abroad with a budget exceeding 2.000 Euro, it is necessary to arrange co-funding. If this is not possible, please submit proof of your efforts to secure additional funding.
- In addition to the support of your supervisor, please also submit an invitation letter from the faculty member who invited you to visit their department.
Summer schools:
- Participation fees for summer school courses will not be funded. Funding will only be provided for travel and accommodation costs.
- For a summer school funding application, a short statement by the supervisor (provided in the “Additional information” section of the application form) is required. The statement should briefly evaluate the scientific excellence of the course and its instructors and explain why the course is relevant to your academic career, e.g. in terms of the skills and content it offers.
- Please note that if funding is provided for attending a summer school, submitting a short report (1-2 pages) after the event is required. The report should critically assess the program structure, content, quality of materials, lecturers, organization, and networking opportunities.
