The Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute appoints Farzad Saidi as a new Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Bonn.
Saidi received his PhD in economics from New York University in 2013 after completing his Master’s degree in econometrics & mathematical economics at the London School of Economics. He joins ECONtribute and the University of Bonn from Boston University Questrom School of Business, where he was working as an Assistant Professor of Finance.
Prior, he was a faculty member at the Stockholm School of Economics and the University of Cambridge. The appointment to Bonn marks the economist’s return to the Rhineland where he was born and raised.
Saidi’s research focuses on issues in banking and financial intermediation. Central to his work is the interplay between financial markets and the macroeconomy.
“I am thrilled that we were able to win Farzad Saidi for the University of Bonn. With his research, he is an ideal fit for ECONtribute,” explains Prof. Dr. Thomas Dohmen, Bonn spokesperson of ECONtribute.
