Daniel Metzger’s research lies at the intersection of financial economics and labor economics. He studies how financial markets and corporate finance decisions interact with labor market outcomes. In addition, he is interested in the financial literacy of managers and households, as well as in entrepreneurship and innovation. He studied mathematics in Bonn and at the University of Warwick and completed a Diploma in Economics at the University of Bonn and UC Berkeley. He received his PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics. His academic career led him from Assistant and Associate Professor positions at the Stockholm School of Economics to a Full Professor of Finance position at Rotterdam School of Management, before joining the University of Cologne as Professor of Finance. He is affiliated with several research institutions, including the Financial Markets Group at the LSE, the Swedish House of Finance, the Finance and Labor Group, the HKU Jockey Club, and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
