Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider is a Professor of Civil Law, Data Economy Law, Data Protection Law, Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bonn. She studied law at the University of Bremen and received her PhD from the University of Freiburg in 2011. After completing her habilitation, she joined the University of Bonn in 2018, where she became Director at the Institute for Commercial and Business Law and at the Center for Medical DataUsability and Translation (ZMDT). In May 2024, she was elected Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Germany and took office in September 2024.
