Sonja received her PhD in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt in 2019 and then spent four years at the University of Copenhagen, before joining the University of Cologne as an Associate Professor. In her research, she focuses on the role of beliefs and expectations in economic decision-making, and on understanding the causes and consequences of systematic inequality in life outcomes along gender and parental background.
