Sonja Kovacevic is an Assistant Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Cologne, specializing in Applied Microeconomics, Economics of Education, Family Economics, and Public Policy. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Oslo and has research experience spanning institutions like Humboldt University and the Frisch Centre. Sonja’s work includes award-winning research on the human capital component of higher education returns and studies on inequality, child welfare, and parental leave policies. She has presented at top conferences
and collaborated on international studies. Previously, she worked with the International Labour Organization in impact evaluation.
