Erik Hornung ist Professor für Wirtschaftsgeschichte an der Universität zu Köln, Research Fellow bei CESifo, CEPR und CAGE, sowie Associate Editor bei The Economic Journal. Bevor Erik Hornung an die Universität zu Köln kam, war er Professor für Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Bayreuth und
wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Max-Planck-Institut für Steuerrecht und Öffentliche Finanzen. Er promovierte in Volkswirtschaftslehre an der LMU München.
